Family picture day. 

Take the pictures despite what your physical or mental health limitations may be. 

I’ve been at my heaviest weight due to transplant meds, so these picture days are hard, but not impossible. 

Nothing difficult in your life is meant to keep you the same. Often times we get stuck in the mindset that we are supposed to get back to a version of ourselves from the past, but that isn’t meant for us anymore. Giving ourselves permission to mourn that part of us is necessary. But that’s rarely talked about, so most of the prolonged pain is from an unrealistic expectation to stay the same. 

Pictures are done, we went to where this new chapter in our lives began a little over 2 years ago. It was beautifully nostalgic, especially showing the photographer our favorite places. We even found a new spot on the journey. The kids ran around “wildly free” which brought me so much joy to see, after some off days around here.
