Our Story
Where We Started: Our story began with a chocolate covered strawberry in a chocolate shop where James and Rachelle worked together. Our friendship developed into something more and we married on the beach with a small gathering of family and friends.
Where We Grew: Almost four years after marrying, we welcomed our first set of twins, Sebastian and Isabelle. Being new parents had its challenges, but we quickly learned some lessons such as when someone offered us help, we immediately said yes and then found them something to do. Almost six years later, our family grew by two when we welcomed our second set of twins, Emma and Claire. The family felt complete.
Where We Are: Several years ago, we moved from Texas to the mountains of Colorado. We knew it was the right place for us to go and grow. It took time for us to find the right place and feel settled. We began homeschooling all four kids while also running multiple businesses, Rachelle received her life-saving kidney transplant, and we hit the road as a family and travelled for a year. The more we talked with our community, the more we realized that we had a story that needed to be shared.
Where We Are Going: We launched Wildly Free in January 2023 to help others share their stories. Since then, Rachelle became part of the anthology, We Choose Joy, and became the featured storytelling expert for M3 Magazine. Together, we launched multiple podcasts, and began curating a new anthology. To help other people’s voices be heard, we became editors, publishers, and producers, feeling that we needed to break down the barriers that got in storytellers’ ways.
Our lives are a testament to the power of determination, sacrifice, and hard work. We pursued our dreams of entrepreneurship, and through our efforts, we have shown that any dream, no matter how big, can become a reality. We thrive with multiple balls in the air at once, so to some, it seems like we are doing a lot, but to us, our personal and professional lives weave like tapestry and it is what we have designed.
